New Zealand's story in the Test series is continuous improvement. A loss, Draw then a Win. Pakistan's story is, fatigue is affecting them slowly and surely after 5 continuous tests.
I'm always skeptical on players coming back from injury. Pakistan has 3 players. So I'm not confident on Shehzad, Hafeez and Gul. I'm also someone who doesn't like captains by popularity. I have written an article separately about Afridi's captaincy issues.
Tim Southee and Boult are rested. McClenaghan is a good replacement. Kyle Mills; I have to wait and watch. So bowling department is a slight worry for New Zealand. Batting looks good enough with Ross Taylor and Williamson back on form.
I can't pin point any batsmen other than Akmal and Sarfraz Ahmed. This is a big worry Pakistan is having on bowling friendly UAE surfaces.
The Dubai pitch is expected to produce runs. But I'm not sure whether Pakistan can make use of it.

ReplyDeleteCricinfo says 150-170. I'm not sure. New Zealand may fail against spin. Pakistan may collapse. Or if the pitch is a batting paradise they can score 160+. There are many ifs and buts. So I'm not playing runs today
