14-Sep-2014 - CL T20 - Lahore Lions v Northern Districts
Both the teams have equal set of strengths and weaknesses. LL have a good bowling unit. ND has a great batting unit.
Against Mumbai Indians, LL showed their deficiencies in their batting. But on the other hand ND hasn't been threatened by a good spin bowling by Southern Express, which won't be the case with LL's spin attack.
I think the LL hold a slight advantage over ND in this match. Since both the matches of 13-Sep are won by chasing teams, I will be sidelining with LL if they are chasing. I will wait for the toss to finish and post a tip.

There are certain factors I have noticed after the end of yesterday's matches. Pollard complained of a very wet ball while MI bowled. So the doubts on LLs batting gets higher. The bookmakers should have noticed this. The price on LL has been revised from 8/11 to 4/5.
So this being a match with afternoon start, chasing teams do not have a slight advantage.
There is going to be no tips for this match. I will advise you to avoid. But for people who wants to enter I'll post the strategies.
1. Pick the chasing team after toss.
2. Pick Lahore Lions @ 4/5 and go In-Play to pick Northern Districts @ 2/1 or higher to cover your investments.
3. Play for a swing of fortunes.

14-Sep-2014 - Mumbai Indians v Southern Express
Mumbai Indians were troubled by some good fast bowling by the Lahore Lions in their first match. on the other hand Southern Express lost the match to Northern Districts due to poor bowling. The SE's strength was expected to be their spin department. But their spinners leaking runs against a Newzealand team in the sub-continent shows their lack of experience.
SE are showing their lack of experience and application in both their Batting and Bowling department. But MI are comparatively better with their Bowling than their Batting.
I expect the MI team to shake the rustiness with the bat and come good in this match in order to survive in the Qualifiers.

Northern Districts won as expected against Southern Express. The Southern's inexperience with captain-ship was clearly evident when they tried to bowl too many overs of spin in a 10 overs match. So the Northerns easily chased down the required 93 runs.

Something didn't look right from the beginning about the MI v LL match yesterday. The doubts only increased when MI went in with 5 bowlers. Mumbai Indians' main strength is their batting.
When you have to tinker with the batting line-up as your regular opener is absent, will you go with one batsman short! Oh wait. Aren't they playing against a Pakistan B team as we mentioned yesterday. With only 136 required LL were 49/0 at the end of 7 overs and 76/2 after 13 Overs (Just 27 runs in 6 Overs). The match is interestingly poised now or should I say all 3 results are possible.

Chris Gayle won't be playing for WI and Imrul Kayes won't play for BD. I don't think these factors will affect the result.

In the previous editions of CL T20 Pakistan teams have fared poorly. Enter the most consistent team of Pakistani domestic T20 circuit [CSK of Pakistan??]. Heavy hitting top order, experienced fast bowlers, an gem of a domestic spinner unknown to the world (and sub continent advantage) makes Lahore Lions.
The main problem that they have lies with their in experienced middle order. Also this team comprises of purely Pakistani players. The lack of foreign internationals creates the image that this team is an Pakistan B team. So the Pakistan team's over aggressive approach, spectacular collapses (or victories) may get reflected in this teams performances as well.
The favourites to win this match Mumbai Indians also have their own problems. Captain Rohit sharma injured and out the tournament. Since he opens the innings for MI, the batting order needs to be adjusted a bit. Lend Simmons has cemented his place as the opener. But the lower middle order batsmen Ambati Rayudu, Corey Anderson, Pollard have to clean up the mess that may be created by a brittle top order. Mumbai's strength undoubtedly in this tournament will be their bowling with Malinga, Ojha and Harbhajan.
